We would also like to congratulate all of the authors who were finalists and made the long-list. Now, I don’t know about you, but whenever there is an award ceremony like this, I always think of my favorite works that I have read during the year, and remember the joy that they gave me, regardless of awards that they may or may not have won. So I wonder, would you like to share with us some of your favorite books that you have read in the past year? We aren’t going to have a vetting process or any serious criteria, but try to just limit yourself to books published during this year. Or not, if you feel like it. Just give us your favorites. I don’t have any categories; to be honest, and much to my chagrin, I did not read any poetry this year, sad to say. So I am just going to give you my favorites straight up.
